eClass Attendance
Introduction:
Attendance is taken the first 10 minutes of each class period. If you don't take your attendance at this time, you may get a phone call from your registar requesting you to take attendance immediately(yes, she can do that!)

Logging Into eClass:
Step 1:Double click on the eClass icon(located on your dektop)
Step 2:Fill in your usser ID(press enter or tab)
Step 3:Fill in your Password(press enter or logon) Both User ID (also know as folder number) and Password will be provided to you by your rebistrar. If the message "Server's time does not match..." appears, just click "OK." It is virtually impossible to get all the computer times to match.

Taking Attendance:
eClass automatically opens to the current day, current period with everyone shown as "present." If there are no absences, click "Done" in the upper right coner. For absences, click on "A" beside each absent student's name, then click "Done."

Tardies:
Do NOT mark students tardy on eClass attendance. A tardy student is given a D-Hall slip (filled in by hand and turned into the office by the end of the day.)

Changes to Attendance:
Once you have clicked "Done," do NOT, under ANY circumstance make a change on the computer and resubmit it (This would be a bad, bad thing to do!!)
If you find you made a mistake, or a student comes in tardy after you have taken roll, CALL YOUR REGISTRAR TO REPORT THE CHANGE:
Elementary: Grace Borman (2563)
Middle School: Betisa Boneau (3100)
High School: Debbie Krueger (4010)

Flags - Yellow:
A yellow flag by a student name indicates a prearranged absence (extra curricular or co curricular.)
Pointing your cursor to the flag (do not click) will cause a box to open to show the periods the student will be absent.
Do NOT mark a student absent if a yellow flag is by the name.

Flags - Red:
A red flag indicates that the student has been marked absent earlier in the day. Pointing your cursor to the flag (do not click) will cause a box to open to show the period(s) the student was marked absent.

Late Attendance:
Attendance may have to be taken for a previous period if the system was down, or you forgot (both of which happen from time to time.) You will be notified by the registrar for which periods you need to do attendance. Open eClass, change the drop down box to select the class period for which you need to take roll. Take attendance as normal.
Top

Viewing Attendance:
You may VIEW attendance taken on previous dates or periods by selecting the chosen period or date from the drop down menu. Do NOT change any attendance previously taken (remember: BAD) If you find a mistake, follow procedure written earlier "Changes to attendance"

Shortened Classes:
Attendance may have to be taken the following period or called in. An announcement will be made as to which procedure will be used.

1st days of School Attendance for MS and HS:
On Thursday and Friday, attendance will NOT be on the computer. You will have a hard copy provided by the registrar. If a student in on your roster and in your class, make no mark. Either add their name to the bottom of your list, or direct them to the correct class.
